More prints up a wetdryvac.net

Journal Entry: Mon Nov 9, 2009, 11:08 AM

I'm still waiting to see if Deviant Art comes into competitive rates on prints as related to my own provider (I use Zazzle and a local shop) for good paper and framing. If they do, I may still stick with Zazzle on API functionality integration with my website: Visit The Wetdryvac.net Store to see how that's set up. That said:

New Fine Art Prints and Products now up!

Give 'em a look see, and while you're at it, I've updated the emblazoned products option (Shirts, Aprons, Mugs, and More) for The Wetdryvac Title Font. Truly unfortunate humor in parts of that project, including cussing: You've been warned.

Thanks for the watch :D

I really like your artwork, the colors are intense! I was just wondering which medium you use.
:iconnhillium:
The intense colors are inverted watercolor paints, mostly, with a few watercolor + silk-screen ink items. I more or less keep the colors for the inversion in my head when I paint (except when I mess it up horribly) and then do as clean (as few image modifications as possible) an inversion as I can.

Sometimes I mess around more with the color than other times, but for the most part the goal is to produce watercolor images against black backgrounds.

I'm impressed, your technique really produces amazing results.

I was actually very interested in producing something very similar, however I had a totally different idea on how to go about doing it. I was hoping to start with the watercolor and then use gouache (simply darken it as I go along) I actually wanted to draw the nebula. I thought that it would be a great challenge (^ ^)

*nods*

That sounds doable and a worthy project indeed. If you do it, I'd love to see the end result.

I will make sure to post a msg when I actually do this project.

But I think it will take me a great deal of attempts before I manage to have something concrete.

May I interview you for my Deviant Art Magazine-project? So far, several artists (including 1, who works with the DA staff) have agreed to help me finish the 1st issue of that future-magazine.

It's going to be an e-magazine (in PDF-format).

Certainly. What method of interview do you prefer?

:iconchadsyphrett:
1st of all: Thanks for your willingness to be interviewed for our Deviant Art Magazine Project.

I'll send 12 questions to you, in 1 hour. After (or if) you answer those questions by the end of this week, I'd appreciate that.

I want you to be featured in the 1st issue of that e-magazine.

P.S. When you're done with the interview, please do either of the following things:
1. Send me links to the images (at least 13) or writings (poems...ect) you would like me to put in our e-magazine.

[I will have them watermarked & protected in our mag.]

2. Tell me "permission granted" or "go fish" if you want me to select 13 of your images (and or your writings) from your art gallery by myself & put them in the magazine.

I'm OK with being interviewed, but you may only link to my DA account, and are not permitted to reprint my images - most of my images are not licensed for distribution, and while I might consider commissioning a work for your publication, I expressly do not grant permission for use in this context.

You might, with others, have a better response if you stated up front, "I would like to interview you and reprint n images." Instead of, "I would like to interview you." These are two very different things, and result in your interviewee being somewhat surprised and potentially put off the entire idea.
